At times we think about how hard this change is that we are experiencing.
I know, it can really be an uphill battle, especially at first.
Being kind to yourself as you continue to grow and regain your own strength and motivations can be a hard thing.
We need grace and, believe it or not, forgiveness more than ever.
So many of us are needing to be kind to ourselves and to others.
Our experiences have left scars that will not go away…whether that is out in public, internal or with our own tribe.
A lot has changed; not only in our world, but in the world around us as well.
It can be very tough to get back into the swing of things after having this life-changing event occur. We have thoughts about “How long will this last?” and in the back of our mind we seem to have a knowing that this is a lifetime event.
We are not the only ones!
Add in the recent COVID Pandemic and you can see the change in society. I have noticed that people don’t want to shake hands, and/or even say “Hello” when walking by.
Our emotions are high and we can show anger and frustration quickly.
Accepting change and showing yourself some grace is key to moving forward.
A tip or two on change:
- Remember that someone has gone before you and is, more than likely, ready and able to help with some of the feelings you may be having. Don’t be afraid to reach out to them. It will be good to talk with someone who can relate to what you are going through.
- Things are not going to be easy after such an event. Try not to be quick to give up and continue to work on new methods, tools, and procedures for getting things done.
- You may recall the saying, “No pain, no gain.” This is of course not true all the time, but you may be experiencing some pain, whether that is mental or physical or both. It will take your commitment to get through it and move onward. As your experience grows, the pain will decrease.
- You may have to deal with the “New Normal”. This can be a tough road to go down. However, embracing the change and finding a new path to put your heart and soul into can be a bit exciting once you discover it.
Take care of YOU…and remember to continue to show yourself grace.
