Thinking about you this week…and I thought I’d send a quick note.
We all have inner power, but sometimes we need to rediscover it, fire it up again, and think about how to sustain a focus.
In order to live a life that is filled with our own potential, and one that we can be proud of when they call our name, we need to know that it may take some hard work and action to accomplish.
So, how do you “Sustain YOUR Focus”?
Let’s start by asking if you are attentive to your own goals?
Do you have any?
Have you dropped off after the excitement of the new year has worn off. Or, are you more committed and excited than ever to continue to move forward?
Of course, I hope it’s the latter!
I know how easy it is to get off track.
Distractions and ways for us to waste our precious time are all around us.
Your computer and phone are beckoning you away from what is most important to you.
Haven’t we all stopped and thought…Where did the day go?
Of course we have.
Increasing your awareness of your current habits and time-usage will help you create the actions you want to stay true to your own decisions about moving forward.
Find the leaks!
There are actually “Time-Management Experts”. People with PhD’s that study how people use, and waste, time.
If you were to go to one of these experts with the complaint “I’m overwhelmed…I don’t have time to do it all” the first thing they would tell you is to track your time.
Yes, I know! What a pain this can be.
It’s tedious to work your way through. But, by doing this for a few days can really be telling and quite revealing.
We go through our lives, day by day, and hardly ever pay attention to this.
So, as we button up this Spring Break week (at least it is here), let’s take a look at how we spend our days, and make a new commitment to ourselves to focus on this.
Here is a really short version of how you can get started.
1) Track your activities that fill your day.
2) Crunch the data.
3) Make some changes.
What can you change throughout your day that moves you toward your priorities? Are you making good choices?
And remember…I am
Committed to YOUR Recovery!
